Our Story
The Wilben Orphanage Foundation was born out of a deep conviction that vulnerable children in our community deserved more than sympathy — they deserved real, structured support. Founded in Benin City, Edo State, the organisation set out to bridge the gap between need and opportunity.
From modest beginnings providing shelter and meals, Wilben has grown into a comprehensive institution offering eight distinct programmes covering residential care, education, health, spiritual development, recreation, family reintegration, community outreach and community development.
Today, our reach extends beyond the children in our care. We serve our host community through medical outreach, borehole water provision, road construction, and care for the elderly — because true development uplifts everyone.
Our Journey
The Beginning
Wilben Orphanage Foundation formally registered in Benin City, Edo State, with a mandate to serve orphaned and vulnerable children.
Growth
Educational support, health services and spiritual guidance programmes launched, creating a holistic care framework for every resident child.
Community
Community development initiatives launched — borehole water provision, medical outreach and road construction extending our impact beyond the Foundation.
Today
Eight programmes, international donor partnerships and a growing family of children and community members who have experienced Wilben's care.
